The candidate for premiership Ion Paduraru starts the consultations with the parliamentary groups on January 15. In a public event, he told the journalist that the Democrats are the first with whom he will have discussions, IPN reports.
Ion Paduraru said he already issued invitations to the parliamentary groups. The discussions with the Democratic Party will take place in a limited format, only with the party’s administration. All the parliamentary groups are to be consulted today and tomorrow, January 15 and 16.
The candidate noted that in the consultations he will state his wish to avoid the early parliamentary elections and will do his utmost for these not to take place. After the consultations with the parliamentary groups, the candidate will start to form the governmental team and to think up the work program that he hopes to present in Parliament next week.
President Nicolae Timofti nominated Ion Paduraru as a candidate for premiership in the evening of January 14, after rejecting the Democratic Party’s candidate Vlad Plahotniuc for the reason that this does not meet the integrity criteria.
