The president of the Supreme Court of Justice Ion Muruianu, whose term in office expired on March 29, will hold the post for 30 days more on an interim basis. Such a decision was taken by the Supreme Council of Magistrates in a meeting on Tuesday, March 29, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase, who is a member of the Council, said the Security and Information Service on Tuesday sent a confidential letter to the Council, asking that it be given more time for being able to examine the file of one of the candidates for Supreme Court of Justice president. The name of the candidate was not made public. A contest to select the new president of the Court will be held within 30 days. The candidates include Ion Muruianu, judges Constantin Gurschi and Raisa Botezatu and president of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Nicolae Timofti.
