Chairman of the Liberal Reformist Party Ion Hadarca was nominated as a candidate in the Romanian Senate elections on the ticket of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) of Romania. In a meeting of the party’s local elected officials in the Romanian city Vaslui, Ion Hadarca was fielded as a candidate for Senate in the elections, while Cristian Cosmin for the Chamber of Deputies, IPN reports.
The event involved the party’s leaders Calin Popescu Tariceanu, ALDE co-chairman and Senate Speaker, and Daniel Constantin, ALDE co-chairman and a member of the Parliament of Romania, as well as local leaders and councilors of different levels of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats. The Liberal Reformist Party was represented by a delegation that consisted of the party’s co-chairman Oleg Bodrug, member of the Standing Bureau Valeriu Saharneanu, and representatives of local offices.
The Liberal Reformist Party of Moldova is a political partner of the Liberal Reformist Party of Romania that was founded by Calin Popescu Tariceanu. This merged with Daniel Constantin’s Conservative Party and formed the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats in June 2015.
The general parliamentary elections in Romania will take place on December 11, 2016.
