Grand International Draughts Master Ion Dosca won the World Seniors Championship. Ion Dosca secured his victory and the gold medal a round before the finals of the competition, IPN reports.

The competition was held in Kranevo, Bulgaria. This is the fifth world champion title, besides three European champion titles on Ion Dosca’s record.

Ion Dosca is considered to be the most successful draughts player in Moldova. He is the holder of the USSR Cup (1980 and 1990), the champion of the Soviet Union (1991), Russian variant, prize-winner of World Championships, universal variant, world champion (1999), universal variant, a US champion, pool-checkers variant (2000) and 18 times champion of Moldova.
