The former chief prosecutor of the municipality of Chisinau Ion Diacov called on the media, the Court of Auditors and the Prosecutor General’s Office to investigate the demolition of dorms of the State University of Moldova (USM) situated on Pan Halippa St on whose places there were built homes, commercial areas and offices. The former prosecutor is convinced that these things were done abusively by decision makers of USM in collusion with the then government and interested businesspeople.

Contacted by IPN for details, Otilia Dandara, pro-rector for teaching acidity at USM, who formed part of the university’s administration also when the project by which several USM dorms were demolished was implemented, said USM was inspected, including by the Court of Auditors, and all the necessary documents were in place. The institutions that asked for information were furnished with data.
Otilia Dandara denied Ion Diacov’s allegation that many of the students remained without places in dorms following the demolition of several building that hosted USM dorms. She said the university’s dorms have free places as there are students of USM who do not want to live in dorms.
The pro-rector noted that all those interested and authorized can come to USM to see the reconstruction projects of the two university campuses – the one situated on Pan Halippa St and the one located on Gheorghe Cașu St. USM responds to the messages of representatives of the media and provides comprehensive information.
