“Ion Creanga” Library launches campaign against crisis of good books
The initiators of a reading promotion campaign themed “Moldova’s children read a book” aim to provide the children with valuable books. The campaign was launched at the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” on January 20, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the author of the project Claudia Balaban, the campaign will be carried out in all the country’s settlements. Until November, the project will distribute the book “Pieces of Soul” by Aurelian Silvestru to children. The volume appealed at the Tocono publishing house in 2011.
The author consented to offering 500 copies of the book for being distributed among all the libraries of the country. Those who want to buy the book can find it at “Prometeu” High School. The most active readers will be awarded in the campaign completion conference that will be held at “Ion Creanga” Library.
“There is no reading crisis. There is the crisis of good books to which we try to find solutions,” said Claudia Balaban.
The launch of the campaign was attended by Aurelian Sivestru. Students of the high schools “Prometeu”, “Gheorghe Asachi”, “Nicolae Iorga”, “Orizont” and of school No. 5 staged a performance.
Aurelian Silvestru is the author of the most popular novel of 2011 “The Walker”.
