“Ion Creanga” Library increases stock

The Branch of the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” based at “Licurici” Theater received a donation of encyclopedias, dictionaries and works of literature from the publishing house “Litera”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The donation was made within a reading promotion event themed “Find the world together with “Litera””. The donated books had been printed at “Litera” during the last two years. “Ion Creanga” Library director Claudia Balaban said the donation is very valuable especially now when the library experiences financing-related problems. “These books are popular with the children. They ask for dictionaries and encyclopedias that they cannot afford to buy. They can borrow them for a period,” she stated. Anatol Vidrascu, director of the editorial group “Litera”, said that by donations of books “Litera” keeps in touch with the readers. “We made this donation because this year the library received no money from the budget to purcahse books,” he stressed. The National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” owns an encyclopedic collection of 250,000 documents. It has over 12,000 clients annually.
