The team of the Party of Development and Unity of Moldova (PDCM) summed up the results of its campaign prior to the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. According to the party’s president Ion Chicu, ex-Prime Minister, since the campaign was launched, the team has pursued the objective of uniting society and of making everything possible to put to good use the potential of the country and the Moldovan people. “During 30 years, we have been told that the people cannot govern themselves and we need a team to manage us. We must oppose such an idea,” Ion Chicu stated in a news conference, being quoted by IPN.
The PDCM leader said the team conducted a fair campaign, didn’t attack anyone and came before the people not with attacks and labeling, but with views and proposals. “We had the courage to tell the people the real situation and didn’t exaggerate something. We had the courage to assume only what can be achieved and didn’t make empty or populist promises. We are proud to ascertain that the people got collective immunity to all kinds of aberrations,” stated Ion Chicu.
In the over 3,000 electoral meetings, the party’s members told the people that not the politicians who come before them repaired roads and increased doctors’ salaries during the pandemic, but they, the people who worked in that period and paid taxes. “The country has potential. To revitalize the country, the Moldovans need to have confidence in their forces. We told the people what can be done during four years in the country if the rulers work, but don’t steal,” noted Ion Chicu.
Ex-minister of health Viorica Dumbrăveanu, who runs for MP on behalf of PDCM, said the team during the election campaign raised the problems faced by the health, social protection and education systems and identified ways of solving them. “We set the goal of uniting and of improving the image of the health and education employees, of contributing directly and by concrete solutions to ensuring the population’s access to medical, education services so that the people feel the contribution and professionalism of those from the health, social protection and education sectors. Our resolve is determined by your encouragements. Only together the Republic of Moldova can develop and society can be united. Vote reasonably and deepening on your aspirations and for the country,” stated Viorica Dumbrăveanu.
