Ion Chicu says he had meeting with Maia Sandu

Acting Prime Minister Ion Chicu had a meeting with President Maia Sandu. On his Facebook page, Ion Chicu wrote that he informed the President that the national public budget at the end of this year will be fulfilled with a surplus of about 1.2 billion lei compared with the plan for 2020. The budget deficit will be lower than the projected one – about 5.5% of the GDP. By the end of the year, no payment order presented to the State Treasury will remain unfinanced. A balance of about 2.5 billion lei will remain the state budget accounts. This is enough for financing the budget costs in January, IPN reports.

“The national health facilities are supplied with medicines, medical equipment, protective devices and other consumables needed to treat persons infected with COVID-19. The contract for the supply of natural gas to the Republic of Moldova in 2021 will be extended the next few days and the estimated price in the first quarter of 2021 will be of US$120-122 per 1,000 cubic meters. During the next few days, the governmental institutions will furnish the presidential administration with other information requested by Maia Sandu,” reads the posting.

Ion Chicu noted that he will hold the post of Prime Minister on an interim basis until December 31. By the same date, the posts of minister of health, labor and social protection, minister of finance and minister of economy and infrastructure will be held by Viorica Dumbrăveanu, Serghei Pușcuța and, respectively, Anatol Usatyi also on an interim basis. The other ministers will continue work.
