Ion Ceban, the Socialist Party’s candidate for the capital’s leadership, submitted today, September 2, the documents to Chisinau constituency electoral Council for registration as a candidate, IPN reports.

Ion Ceban says that he is running for the position because he has the experience, knowledge and desire to change things in the city, but also because he is not indifferent to Chisinau’ fate.

Soon, his electoral program will be published, which will be a complex, long-term one, specifies Ion Ceban. It aims to modernize the city focusing on solutions to urban problems.

The PSRM representative wants the citizenry not to choose between "the geopolitical rhetoric and how it used to be". "I hope this competition will be based on the ideas and programs suggested for Chisinau. If politics and geopolitics make the law in the City Hall, the situation will continue to deteriorate, "said the Socialist.

Ion Ceban also ran for the position of mayor of the capital in 2018. At the time Andrei Năstase was elected mayor of the capital, but his mandate was not validated on the account of election campaigning on "Silence Day".
