Ion Ceban: Nistor Grozavu and Ruslan Codreanu will be discharged if I’m elected mayor

If he is elected mayor of Chisinau, the Party of Socialists’ candidate Ion Ceban said he will dismiss deputy mayors Nistor Grozavu and Ruslan Codreanu because Nistor Grozavu issued a number of authorizations that made the city uglier, while Ruslan Codreanu, even if this is a qualified specialist, was named illegally to the post, IPN reports.

Ion Ceban pledged to fight illegal constructions in Chisinau. To begin with, he will ban the issuing of building authorizations for areas where not all the urban development standards are met. On the very first week, we will sign an order to oblige the divisions and subdivisions responsible for this field not to issue authorizations for erecting on playgrounds and in yards of apartment buildings. The already finished buildings will be reviewed, while the initiated ones will be stopped.

As regards the problem of corruption at the City Hall, the candidate said he will make effort to root it out by digitizing all the services, by introducing the electronic ballot for all the important meetings and by electronic public procurement activities and also by motivating and promoting competent employees.

Asked about his position concerning the unionist demonstrations and those staged by the LGBT community, Ion Ceban said these will be banned if he is elected mayor.

In another development, Ion Ceban said he will not become involved in the parliamentary elections if he wins the mayoralty of Chisinau.
