The Republic of Moldova can be taken out of the current profound crisis during 5-7 years. Political will is needed for the purpose, the head of the Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council Ion Ceban was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.

According to him, a country development strategy is needed, but this is now missing in the Republic of Moldova. “There should be an anti-crisis program. This should cover all the areas, starting with the social sector, health, education, the family and ending with other things. So, political will, a program and people who would implement this are needed. And, surely, there should be no stealing,” stated Ion Ceban.

As to the protest that took place on Moldova’s Independence Day, in the morning of August 27, Ion Ceban named it provocative and aimed at preventing the senior state officials from laying flowers at the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great in central Chisinau. He said this is inacceptable as the country’s administration during all the 27 years of independence laid flowers there and this tradition should not be interrupted.
