Ion Ceban will no longer hold post of adviser to the President. The announcement was made on a social networking site. Ion Ceban said the National Integrity Authority established that his posts of Chisinau councilor and President’s adviser are incompatible.
“Therefore, as a result of consultations with civil society and with my colleagues, we decided to put things right. I will continue to fulfill the same duties within the staff of the President of Moldova, but will also head the Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council. Not the name of the post, but what we do is important. Nothing will change conceptually,” wrote Ion Ceban.
The councilor published the National Integrity Authority’s response to the request to determine possible conflicts of interests and incompatibilities among presidential advisors made by the secretary general of the President’s staff Ruslan Flocea. The Authority ruled that these cannot hold other public posts except that of adviser to the President.
