The kindergartens in Chisinau are fully ready to welcome children and meet the requirements formulated by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission. If the Commission decides to reopen them, the kindergartens can be reopened right away, mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban stated in a program on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
“The not very positive dynamics of 300 - 400 daily infections makes us yet more uncertain. We are asked when the kindergartens will be reopened. Dear people, such a decision is taken not by us, but by the central public authorities that decide based on the current dynamics,” said Ion Ceban.
According to him, the Chisinau City Hall allocated 5 million lei to kindergartens and 6 million lei to schools, cumulatively 100 million lei for repair works.
“The early education institutions, the kindergartens, are outfitted with all the necessary things, disinfectants, according to protocols. We have a special protocol as to when each child should come. All those involved were trained. There is also an alternative - online education that currently involves millions and is considered a very good initiative,” stated the mayor.
The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission in its last meeting on July 24 decided that the kindergartens will not be reopened earlier than September 1 this year.
