For the leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase (PPPDA), the mayor-elect whose election wasn’t validated by the court, it is more convenient to be on the street than at the City Hall, the head of the Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council Ion Ceban stated in the talk show “Direct access” on NTV Moldova channel. According to him, such a situation is more suitable for Andrei Nastase because at the City Hall he would have had to work hard and deal with the local problems, IPN reports.
The Socialist councilor does not rule out the possibility that the elections had been invalidated based on an agreement between the candidate of the PPPDA and the current government. “I know that Andrei Nastase should not be at the City Hall because he does not have a team, a strategy and knowledge. He is the only one who stands to gain from this situation. The scenario could have been planned together with all those who call themselves pro-European,” stated Ion Ceban.
As an argument, the Socialist invoked the fact that when Andrei Nastase launched his election campaign, he had a rating of 4%, but now his rating rose to 40% together with the rating of the leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu. “The elections aren’t validated, the PDM keeps its resources in the capital city and Andrei Nastase bears responsibility for nothing,” he noted.
Ion Ceban said the invalidation of the elections is a dangerous precedent as this thing can happen to anyone. “In this regard, the law is really interpretable,” he stated.
