The Socialists’ candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau municipality Ion Ceban sees himself the mayor of Chisinau. This is how he answered when he was asked by the moderator of the talk show “Politics” produced by TV8 channel which of the candidates would compete with him in the runoffs. The candidate said he must be chosen mayor because his team has a clear strategy for developing the municipality of Chisinau for the short and medium terms, IPN reports.
Ion Ceban said that 4.5 billion lei is needed to implement all the points of his electoral program. He considers he will be able to identity this money for development projects by making savings. “Yes, these tasks seem unreal or even fantastic at this moment, but we should understand that Chisinau is an agglomeration with almost 1 million people and the problems should be solved technologically, conceptually and technically so as to meet all the world standards. We set goals that we aim to achieve,” stated the aspirant. According to him, if such objectives are not set, Chisinau will always deal with trivial things.
Ion Ceban noted that the proposals from his electoral program concern all the citizens of Chisinau municipality. However, even if he said he will be the mayor of all the residents of Chisinau if he wins the elections, he asserted he will not issue an authorization, for example, for mounting the unionists’ march because he considers the message of the unionists goes against the Constitution.
