The candidate of the Party “National Alternative Movement” (MAN) for the post of mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said that from the first day of the new term, he and his team will continue developing the municiplaity of Chisinau. “We know the priorities, the budgetary possibilities and how to attract resources for projects,” the election contender told a news conference.

Ion Ceban noted that the entrances to the city should look better and his team will concentrate their efforts on the main access roads, such as Șoseaua Hâncești, Calea Orheiului, Valea Crucii, Șoseaua Muncești and others. For example, the expert documents for Șoseaua Hâncești St, towards the exit to Ialoveni, are ready and the repair works will start soon.

The candidate said that many of the streets in the city were already repaired, while others are being rehabilitated. It is planned to rehabilitate a series of important streets, such as Meșterul Manole, Maria Drăgan, Vasile Lupu, Bănulescu-Bodoni, București, Moscovei, Studenților etc. Some of them will be extended.

“We also aim to repair secondary streets in all the districts of Chisinau. The people need to travel on high-quality roads in the municipality of Chisinau. We will finish the repair of the road on Mihai Viteazu St. Some consider that the repair works last too long, but there are technological processes that necessitate time. Moreover, the full closure of the bridge will lead to congestion,” stated Ion Ceban.

The MAN candidate said that solutions can be identified to rehabilitate also other bridges in Chisinau. The rehabilitation of sidewalks will continue and additional parking lots will be built. “We will definitely find solutions to organize pay parking lots in the historical center. We will also focus on large parking lots at the entrances to the city now that the public transport fleet was significantly extended. Those parking lots will be important road connections. One will leave the personal car there and will travel by public transport further,” said the candidate.

Ion Ceban also said that the creation of parking lots in residential areas, modernization of yards of apartment buildings, full replacement of lighting with modern systems, as it has been done until now on a large number of streets in the municipality, remain high on the list of priorities.

As it was decided by draw, Ion Ceban of the National Alternative Movement will be the 16th on the slate of candidates on the ballot.
