Employees of the Chisinau City Hall are being spied on, said the mayor of the capital city Ion Ceban. He believes that the main purpose is to intimidate, frighten and denigrate employees. They are "followed including with cars, observations, video cameras and all kinds of listening instruments," said the mayor, quoted by IPN.

"At a district head’s office, there were some actions that were noticed by our employees. You have the impression that you are in an action movie, in a thriller when people in balaclavas sneak in with the ladder on their back, put or take something out. We have this movie in action and we are not making it public yet, but this is the top of it," said the mayor of the capital city.

Ion Ceban is convinced that an order aimed at particular people is being executed: "We don't know exactly or we can only assume what you are doing in this regard and whose order you are fulfilling. We are sure that those who govern and gave the order to take particular colleagues at any cost, with masked men, and, as in the old style, to apply the method of televised justice are very angry."

The mayor of Chisinau anticipated that "such actions would happen in the future, especially during the election campaign."
