The International Organization for Migration (IOM), starting from February 2024 until June 2024, will support over 1,200 Ukrainian refugees with disabilities, and 200 vulnerable children from the Transnistrian region based on their needs. The aid is provided through four implementing partners in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

IOM Moldova hosted a Coordination meeting on Disability Inclusion for refugees with disabilities from Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova to illustrate the results of three projects implemented by IOM together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, and with the NGOs Motivatie, Center for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and Interaction.

Over 2,300 needs assessment were conducted across the Republic of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region. Over 1,300 persons with disabilities were assisted according to their needs and 330 were provided support to access Temporary Protection migration status.

During the meeting, the Study “Access of Refugees with Disabilities to Health Services in the Republic of Moldova”, conducted by the NGO Center for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, was presented and it will be published in March.
