Investments in Marculesti Free International Airport at over US$5m
The resident companies over nine months have invested US$1.13 million in the Marculesti Free International Airport. So far, the investments in the zone totaled US$5.24 million, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Economy.
In the period, there were created 22 new workplaces. The average monthly salary varies between 1,700 and 2,300 lei. The taxes and contributions paid into the budget in nine months came to 2.71 million lei.
The Ministry of Economy said the hotel situated on the airport's territory was repaired. It provides accommodation for 54 persons. The construction works on two sheds for repairing planes and helicopters and on the building of the crossing and control post, and the repair of 18 sheds for military planes that have been turned into storehouses go on.
The general investor plans to create a logistics center, modernize the airdrome, built a cargo terminal, purchase Western-type planes, construct an aircraft repair plant and set up a pilot training school. It presented a business plan in Brussels in October within the TRACECA Project (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia).
Twelve new residents companies of the Marculesti Free International Airport, two of which foreign, had been registered from May 2009 until present. Six of them will start work by the end of this year or at the start of next year. The first resident and general investor is I.S. AIL “Marculesti”.
