The volume of goods produced and services provided in Free Economic Zones (FEZs) in 2014 came to about 3.8 billion lei, with the industrial production accounting for 95.7% of these, the Ministry of Economy says in a report, quoted by IPN.
79.1% of the goods produced in the FEZs were exported, accounting for 9.2% of Moldova’s exports in 2014.
According to the situation on January 1, 2015, there were 161 resident companies in the seven Free Economize Zones. The salaries paid by these companies totaled 364.3 million lei, an increase of 13.1% compared with the corresponding period of 2013.
The calculated taxes amounted to 180.4 million lei. The largest taxes were paid by the resident companies of the FEZ “Balti” (44.8%), FEZ “Ungheni-Business” (26.9%) and the Free Entrepreneurship Zone “Expo-Business-Chisinau” (20.6%).
Investments of about US$83 million were attracted to the FEZs over the last four years.
