Investment forum in Stefan Voda gathers participants from 12 countries
The investment forum “Creating opportunities for attracting investments in the South Development Region”, which took place on Thursday and Friday at the Purcari Complex in Stefan-Voda, brought together participants from 12 countries. The authorities said the forum was a good platform for presenting the existent potential and for attracting investments, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release of the Government, Prime Minister Vlad Filat stated that the venue of the forum was an example of regional development. He spoke about the advantages of the South Development Region. “We have 14 customs terminals here, including two with the EU and access to the sea at the Giurgiulesti International Port. There are two free economic zones, two business incubators in Leova and Stefan Voda and we will open two industrial parks in Cimislia and Cahul”, said the Prime Minister.
Head of the EU Delegation Dirk Schuebel said that the EU considers regional development very important. The EU has agencies of regional development similar to those in Moldova and European countries pay increased attention to the proportional development of states. The official also spoke about Moldova’s European prospects, noting that the country is becoming more attractive for investors.
Minister of Constructions and Regional Development Marcel Raducan said he is confident that the forum will contribute to raising living standards and creating a favorable investment climate in the southern region.
On the first day, on October 25, the participants visited the successful projects, either finalized or underway, as well as the touristic places of interest in the south-east of Moldova. The event is organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Economy, in partnership with the South Agency for Regional Development and the Organization for Attracting Investments and Promoting Exports of Moldova.
