The political struggle and competition weren’t brought to an end by investing the new Government and electing the Head of Parliament, but there are preconditions for them to be replaced with enthusiasm and the feeling of constructivism, which will lead to the harmonization of relations in society, political analyst Viorel Cibotaru has told IPN.

“The vote in Parliament was a victory of reason and the national interest. This is absolutely evident and prevails in the assessment of these events. It is obvious that a compromise was reached not at all easily as the configuration of forces in Parliament was changed,” said the analyst.

Viorel Cibotaru stressed it is good that the negative pressure exerted didn’t have an effect. This situation made the Moldovan people to be more optimistic about the strategic goals and European integration, the country’s modernization and the achievement of another living standard to which the people aspire.

However, there are many things that are to be tested and proven. The Government, which is for the depoliticization of institutions, should also prove its efficiency. “The Cabinet is practically the same, but the people have new expectations of it. The people learn from their own mistakes. This refers to the politicians and members of the executive,” stated the analyst.

According to Viorel Cibotaru, in the created situation there are no winners and no victims. There are groups of MPs who reached an agreement. “Many of them remain oligarchs, are corrupt, but learned certain lessons and will try to fulfill the commitments made to the partners” he added.

The new parliamentary majority consists of MPs of the PLDM, PDM and of the group of Hadarca. Democratic lawmaker Igor Corman was elected Speaker, while the Liberal-Democrat Iurie Leanca was voted in as Premier.
