Investigation launched into incident involving Nicolae Botgros

The State Guard and Protection Service opened an internal inquiry into the case that happened at the March 10 concert of orchestra conductor Nicolae Botgros. At the concert that closed the festival “Martsishor 2013”, the master had an altercation with an employee of the Service, Info-Prim Neo reports. After a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti, the Service’s director Igor Bodorin told the press that the altercation between the employee of the Service and the master arouse because of cables that were placed not safely. “There were two cables that endangered the movement of the head of state, who took part in the concert, and of other invitees and participants,” said Igor Bodorin. He also said that his inferior asked an operator to change the place of the cables, but that person refused to do it without the consent of Nicolae Botgros. “Afterward, the employees of the State Guard and Protection Service approached the master to ask him to allow replacing the cables. Nicolae Botgros, being probably anxious because of the emotions that evening, reacted angrily to that request,” stated Igor Bodorin, underlining that his inferior didn’t insult Master Botgros, as the press reported. Igor Bodorin said that he hasn’t yet discussed with Nicolae Botgros to find out his opinion about what happened. He also said that the employee doesn’t form part of the President’s guard, as the media reported earlier. According to press reports, Nicolae Botgros, who gave a jubilee concert with his orchestra in the evening of March 10, needed medical care after a guard employee insulted him behind the stage.
