Parliament will have its next ordinary sitting this Thursday. The agenda approved by the Standing Bureau includes the bill by which the phrase “Moldovan language” is replaced with “Romanian language” across the national legislation. The MPs are to give a second, final reading to this bill, IPN reports.

The Parliament’s Standing Bureau approved the agenda of the sittings scheduled for March 16-30. In the period, the MPs will give a second reading to the legislative proposal designed to stimulate digital trade and to a number of bills, including the bills to amend the law on additional social protection for particular categories of people, the law on judicial organization and the law on the prosecution service.

The MPs will also examine draft laws on the Supreme Court of Justice and the external assessment of judges and candidates for judge of the SCJ, on paid internships in the public sector and on subsidization in agriculture and rural areas, on cybersecurity and the Security and Intelligence Service.

The legislative body is to ratify a series of agreements and amendments to agreements, including the Council of Europe Convention on Cinematographic Co-production, the Agreement with the European Union on Moldova’s association to the EU4Health program, the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project Additional Financing.

The Parliament is to name a member of the Court of Auditors and an adviser to the National Dispute Resolution Agency and to consider constituting a special commission for the selection of candidates for the post of ombudsperson for children’s rights.

The sitting set for March 16 starts at 11am.
