The eighth charity exhibition and sale Evening of Art, which is organized by the International Women’s Club of Moldova for (IWCM), will take place in the central pavilion of Moldexpo on April 8, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on April 5, the Club’s co-president, U.S. Ambassador’s wife Charla Chaudhry said the Night of Art is a wonderful occasion that showcases the talent of Moldova’s artists and artisans and raises money for good causes in Moldova. This year the Night of Art offers the opportunity to view and buy the works of over 80 well-known and aspiring Moldovan artists. Tickets cost 100 lei. The money from ticket sales goes to charity. The painters contribute by paying themselves for the exhibition space. Kate Shannon, the wife of the British Ambassadors, said the Night of Art 2011 will raise money for a "Communication Club" run by the Regina Pacis Foundation to give social support to the elderly and other vulnerable groups in Chisinau and for an all purpose sports court for children and teenagers in Sadova village, Calarasi. The event has been organized by the International Women’s Club of Moldova since 2004.
