International Choral Festival to premiere in Chisinau

The First International Choral Music Festival “A Ruginit Frunza din Vii” will take place in Chisinau during October 12-15, Info-Prim Neo reports. The event is organized by the Choral Music Association of Moldova in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall. According to Master Victor Creanga, senior conductor of the Festival, the event, which will be held in the spirit of the manifestations celebrating the Day of Chisinau, will bring together choirs from Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Republic of Moldova. A requirement of the program is the performance of at least two choral pieces in the Romanian language. A day before the Festival's official opening, scheduled for October 13 at 16:00 in the Organ Hall, choral ensembles will gather inside the Roman Catholic Church in Chisinau to perform service music. On Chisinau Day on October 14, the choirs will give an open-air concert in Stephan the Great Public Garden. The organizers hope the Festival will find a place in the cultural landscape of Chisinau and will become an annual event.
