International Chess Federation to build a chess & draughts club in Chisinau

International Chess Federation is going to build a chess & draughts club in Chisinau. The Government assigned this week a plot of land of 0.595 hectares on 103 Sciusev Street for the club’s construction, with a hotel nearby. The project was proposed following talks between the Moldovan authorities and the president of the International Chess Federation, Kirsan Iliumjinov. All construction-related costs will be covered by the International Chess Federation. Authorities consider that the club will popularise chess and draughts in Moldova and will encourage our sportsmen to participate in international tournaments, European and World championships.
