International Book Fair for Children and Youth makes comeback

The International Book Fair for Children and Youth returns to Chisinau after a two-year hiatus. Seventeen exhibitors, publishers and book distributors, offering more than 50 thousand books for children and young people in various languages, fiction and non-fiction, will participate in this year’s edition, running from December 1 to 4 at Moldexpo.

Eugenia Bejan, director of the Ion Creangă National Children’s Library, told IPN that a Children’s Forum will be held on the margins of the Fair, where the winners of the national  competition for book trailers #PriveșteCitește will be awarded. For the contest, the participants filmed a video presenting a book.

One of the Fair’s highlights is the book “Radu, Grandmother and Bumbu the Dog” by the beloved children’s author Spiridon Vangheli, which will be gifted to all the children visiting the Fair. Also, the Cultural Voucher national program will be presented, and the international Conference "Reading and early education" will be held.

The 24th edition of the International Book Fair will be inaugurated on December 1.
