International adoptions coordinated by consultative council

The international adoptions in Moldova will be coordinated by a consultative council that was created by the Government under the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, Info-Prim Neo reports. The council will consist of two representatives of the Ministry of Labor, by one representative of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Centre for Information and Documentation on Children's Rights in Moldova, the association “CCF Moldova – Child, Community, Family”, and of the children’s ombudsperson. The council will strengthen the partnership between civil society and the adoption authorities in selecting the suitable adopters. The executive approved the regulations concerning the accreditation of foreign organizations dealing with international adoptions. The given organizations must be nonprofit and have experience in the field, ensure financial transparency and account for the taxes levied on adoption procedures.
