Internal inquiry launched at Chisinau City Hall to discover fraudulent schemes

The mayor general of Chisinau ordered holding an internal inquiry at the Land Division so as to identify possible acts of corruption. Dorin Chirtoaca Monday said he found out about the existence of fraudulent schemes that enable to register plots of land in Chisinau at the state-run cadastral company “Cadastru” without the decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council, IPN reports.

According to the mayor, the plots are delimited by court decisions that set the geometric scheme of the plots. These lands are then registered at “Cadastru”. Thus, the municipal plots put up for auction appear in the database as private property, situated including in the most expensive parts of the city.

Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said he knows about such schemes. It was recently determined that two plots located on Milescu Spataru St in Ciocana district are presented as private property based on falsified sale-purchase documents. The relevant documents concerning these cases were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The acting head of the Architecture, Land Relations and Urbanism Division Ion Carpov said he does not know about such cases.
