Prime Minister Dorin Recean has convened the Anti-Crisis Center of the Ministry of the Interior. The meeting set to start at 04:00 p.m. will involve representatives of all the responsible institutions and local public authorities of the areas affected by the torrential rain, IPN reports.

“Everyone was mobilized. All the public services are working, including and especially the intervention ones. I want to call on the citizens to follow very carefully the weather forecasts and also the announcements of the authorities. During this period, there is less traffic, and all the services will be in a state of alert,” said Premier Recean.

According to official information, at least 26 emergency response operations are taking place in the districts of Cantemir, Hâncești, Leova, Cimișlia, and Ștefan Vodă.

Due to heavy rainfall, road traffic was blocked on a number of road sectors. The people are urged to travel by vehicles only in urgent cases. In connection with the heavy rainfall, it is difficult to drive and the risk of accidents or traffic jams is higher.
