The Ministry of Home Affairs designed an interactive map for supervising the persons who are suspected of having contracted COVID-19. The map consists of a system with a database that enables the police and doctors to see how many people enter the country, how many filled out epidemiological questionnaires, how swiftly the person reaches the self-isolation place indicated in the questionnaire and what happens to this while being in quarantine, Minister of Home Affairs Pavel Voicu stated in a press briefing.
The minister noted that by this system one can identify persons who have not stayed in quarantine at the place indicated in the epidemiological questionnaire for 14 days, as requested by the authorities. The program could be used by medical personnel too.
Ion Botnari, head of the Information Analysis Center of the General Police Inspectorate, said the interactive map enables to identity the place and even the street where there are many people suspected of having COVID-19. The database contains information from epidemiological questionnaires and allows verifying this and synthetizing it at national level, including identifying the most affected regions.
“Through the agency of this map, we can supervise all the suspected persons at the address indicated in each questionnaire. The system enables to check the reasons for which the person is under supervision and from which country this returned,” stated Ion Botnari.
Currently, over 20,000 persons suspected of having COVID-19 are in a self-isolation regime for 14 days.
