Intensive German language courses for three Moldovan high schools
More than 1,300 students of two Chisinau high schools and a Balti lycee will study German under a cooperation agreement signed by the Ministry of Education and the Embassy of Germany in Chisinau on September 14, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Thus, the students of the Chisinau high schools “ Mihail Kogalniceanu” and “Titu Maiorescu” and Balti high school “Nicolae Gogol” will be able to take the German language and civilization course from the first grade. It will include five lessons a week.
Every year, the German Embassy will delegate by a person to teach at the three high school. There will be also organized seminars for Moldovan teachers of German.
“I'm very satisfied with this agreement. The higher is the number of students who know German, the stronger will be our relations of friendship,” said Minister of Education Leonid Bujor.
German Ambassador in Chisinau Berthold Johannes stressed that over 13,000 students learn German in Moldova and this agreement will enable them to enrich their knowledge of German and to apply for scholarships to study in Germany.
The next step, according to Leonid Bujor, will be an agreement to reciprocally recognize the diplomas of the two countries.
The three-year cooperation agreement will come into force this year. The Ministry of Education of Moldova has signed similar agreements with Romania and Ukraine.
