The works to prepare the education institutions and the dorms managed by them for the academic year are to be finished by August 17. A decision to this effect was taken in the first meeting of the new Cabinet, IPN reports.

Minister of Education Corina Fusu said special attention is paid to the creation of access ways to education institutions, including for students with special educational needs. There are checked the units of transport that take the teachers and students to district schools.

As many as 1,063 teachers are needed in the 2015 - 2016 academic year. Following the assignment of graduates of teacher training education establishments of the 2015 class to schools, only slightly over half of the vacancies were filled. The authorities pledged to create conditions for the young teachers, including by providing allowances to those who are assigned to work in villages.

More than 8 million lei was allocated to education from the 2015 state budget. This sum was calculated based on the cost standard per student. The works to prepare the institutions for the academic year will be carried out with money from the district component of the 2014 budget for education. The universities and colleges will use their own budgets for the purpose.
