Inspectors of General Police Inspectorate to be stimulated financially

The inspectors of the General Police Inspectorate of the Ministry of the Interior will get bonuses to the salary, in accordance with a decision approved by the Government, IPN reports.

The move is aimed at strengthening the capacities to prevent and fight corruption, stimulating the inspectors to penalize all the violations and at awarding the police employees for their professional performance.

Thus, the inspectors will receive bonuses of 25% of the value of fines collected into the state budget as a result of the examined contraventions.

The bonuses will be paid quarterly from the budget of the General Police Inspectorate, to which 25% of the value of fines collected into the state budget will be transferred.

In 2016, the inspectors of the General Police Inspectorate drew up over 263,000 contravention reports. Fines of 82.6 million lei were paid into the state budget based on 228,000 reports of these.
