The prosecutors who obey the separatist Transnistrian regime started to inspect the mass media organizations in the region, at the instruction of the leader of Transnistria Yevgeny Shevchuk, IPN reports, quoting the website of the Russian news agency “Novyi Region”, which has a local office in the Transnistrian region.

In a yearend news conference, Yevgeny Shevchuk said the goal of these inspections is to make the income sources of the media outlets transparent.

Representatives of the prosecution service discussed with employees of “Novyi Region” office in the region and inquired if they have work contracts, are officially registered in the region and have documents for renting the offices where the editorial staff works.
