The Ministry of Health constituted a commission of inquiry that will determine the correctness of vaccine administration at health facilities and vaccination centers, IPN reports.
The decision was announced one day after the Court of Auditors published the results of an audit saying that about 7,000 vaccine doses with the use-by date expired were administered to the population. By November 15, over 11,000 doses of vaccine to the value of 1.6 million lei were classed as losses after their use-by date expired. Also, over 70,000 register notes generate suspicions as to the authenticity of the issued vaccine certificates.
The subject was raised in Parliament by MP of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists Inga Sibova. She asked that the minister of heath should come to Parliament to explain the situation.
Ala Nemerenco believes the data were misinterpreted. “No vaccine dose was and can be administered if the use-by date expired. The information system of records wasn’t sufficiently developed and couldn’t avoid technical registration mistakes,” the minister wrote on Facebook.
