Inna Supac named head of Communist parliamentary group

Inna Supac is the new head of the parliamentary group of the Party of Communists (PCRM). She replaced Violeta Ivanov, who left the party and the group alongside another 13 MPs, IPN reports.

The leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin told a news conference that the leaving of the 14 MPs represents betrayal and this act shocked the party’s administration. He is convinced that the decision wasn’t taken by the MPs as somebody pushed them from behind.

The Communists’ leader also said that the PCRM ‘raised’ these politicians. Six of the 14 even formed part of the party’s senior administration and now they left the party without an executive committee. This prevents the PCRM from taking particular decisions.
