The parliamentary group Pro Moldova proposed a bill to amend the Constitution by introducing a provision that obliges the state to pay to pensioners a minimum pension not lower than the minimum subsistence level. The MPs of Pro Moldova also announced that they initiate the procedure for collecting the signatures needed to call a plenary sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.
“The minimum subsistence level in the Republic of Moldova for 2020 is of about 2,100 lei. The bill registered by Pro Moldova provides that any pensioner, regardless of the length of service and practiced jobs, will get a minimum pension of 2,100 lei,” MP Andrian Candu stated in a press briefing.
According to him, as all the candidates competing for office of President made similar promises, the supporting of this bill and of the bill to amend the relevant legislation is a test of responsibility and honesty for the candidates supported by the parliamentary parties.
The parliamentary group also intends to collect the signatures needed to convoke Parliament. The MPs call on all those who make promises honestly and responsibly to the people to support to convening of a plenary sitting for October 22.
“If those candidates who run for President are sincere towards the citizens to whom they make promises and want to show that they care about these people, we invite them to sign the application to call the sitting of Parliament and our bill to amend the Constitution. We invite them to show to the people that these promises can be fulfilled without someone particular winning the elections,” noted Andrian Candu.
