The initiative group that intends to create the Party “The Right” demands that the heads of the Security and Information Service, the National Anticorruption Center and the Prosecutor General’s Office should resign. In a communique, the group‘s leaders put forward a series of demands that can help overcome the chaos witnessed in Moldova. Among the demands are to provide Moldovan nationality to Romanian security prosecutors and experts so that these could be named as chiefs of the three aforementioned institutions, IPN reports.
“The Right” deplores the situation created in Moldova as a result of the theft of the billion, which led to large-scale street protests, and the lamentable inaction of the government over the fully justified economic and social demands of the protesters. The chaos on the streets of Chisinau, the hesitant reactions of the government and sometimes the lack of reaction risk bringing Moldova on the verge of a political crisis and can also make it vulnerable to a possible danger from the East,” it is said in the communique.
The members of the initiative group said prompt and trenchant measures are needed to overcome the current impasse, including to take legal action and arrest the persons involved in the theft of the billion, to amend the legislation so as to ban offshore companies from making investments in all the socioeconomic spheres, including the financial-banking sector and the mass media, and to allow owning only one media outlet on the broadcasting market of Moldova
They also demand using a part of the money provided by Romania (€150m) for building a reservoir of liquefied petroleum gas at the border between Romania and Moldova, near the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, and for completing the construction of the Balti-Suceava and Vulcanesti-Isaccea energy interconnections so as to replace the power and gas suppliers and to nationalize the natural gas distribution networks on Moldova’s territory.
