Inhabitants of Ciocana and Rascani district of Chisinau to have water today
The inhabitants of Ciocana and Rascani districts of Chisinau, whose running water was halted on Thursday, will have water till the end of Friday, Ecaterina Stratan, the press officer of Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) water supplier, states. Power distributor Union Fenosa stopped the electricity to an ACC water pumping plant because of a debt of 8 million lei, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The water supply will be resumed after the two suppliers have signed a new contract, Stratan said.
Chisinau's mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has sent a guarantee letter to Union Fenosa mentioning that “Apa-Canal Chisinau” has paid up 2.5 million lei for the last three days, the debt thus decreasing to 6.9 million. They will pay other 2.8 million lei till Monday, and the debt will be discharged fully by June 3, reads a communique by the city hall.
The ACC explains the debts by the big expenditures it incurred lately and the too small tariffs paid by consumers.
