The Ministry of Information Development is completing the formulation of the strategy for creating a common information space and developing electronic communications for 2009- 2011. Deputy Minister Oleg Rotaru has told Info-Prim Neo that the strategy will be submitted to the Government in September. The draft strategy envisions not only the working out of normative documents for regulating the information relations between states, economic entities and population, but also the building of an information culture by instructing the population and improving access to information resources. Under the strategy, there will be implemented new information systems. The first projects to implement 3G technologies have been already approved by the Government. New public internet centers are being opened in most of Moldova’s settlements. The draft strategy and the legislative and normative documents that will be worked out under the strategy will be analyzed at roundtable meetings by specialists, economic entities and the general public. Oleg Rotaru voiced hope that the Association of Informatics and Electronic Communication Operators will be launched soon. The foundation of the institution is discussed by representatives of companies working in the area. This NGO could become a permanent dialogue partner of the Ministry of Information Development in amending the legislative and normative frameworks that regulates the activity of the information and electronic communication market.
