Information about Transnistrian military men' participation in Moscow parade does not deserve being commented, Victor Osipov
Politician Sergiu Mocanu published a communique in the name of the People's Action Movement, announcing that 57 Transnistrian military men are in Moscow for rehearsals for the parade that will take place in the Read Square on May 9. The communique makes reference to unofficial sources. The politician asks the Moldovan authorities to find out if this is true and withdraw the contingent of Moldovan soldiers from the parade if the information is confirmed.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov said that such information does not deserve being commented. “The May 9 parade is a large-scale event that involves many states, including countries that had been allies in the Second World War such as the U.S, France and Poland. Nobody will want to discredit such an event by involving separatist forces,” Victor Osipov stated for Info-Prim Neo.
Last weekend, Acting President Mihai Ghimpu announced that the Alliance for European Integration decided to send 70 Moldovan soldiers to the May 9 parade in Moscow. Afterward, he told the press that if the Moldovan soldiers go to Moscow, he will not go as only the winners go there, not the defeated.
The Moldovan soldiers started to prepare for the parade on April 24. One week before May 9, they will go to Moscow for rehearsals.
