Inebriated minibus driver continued to work after fired
The man who was caught driving a minibus under the influence last week was working without the consent of the administrator as he had been dismissed, the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna said at the May 31 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The fact that a fired person continued to work is a matter concerning the relations between the route administrator and the employees, said Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. He demanded that all the administrators be informed about the responsibility they bear so that similar cases be avoided.
The police stopped the minibus to check the driver's documents. There were at least ten passengers in the minibus. The man denied having drunk alcohol, but the breath test showed he was under the influence. The man may be banned from driving for three years.
