Industrial production 2.5% up in 11 months of last year

The gross industrial production in January-November 2019 was by 2.5% higher compared with the corresponding period last year following the 3.4% rise in the gross production in processing industry. The gross production in extractive industry decreased by 1.8%, while the gross production and supply of electric power, heat, gas, hot water and conditioned air declined by 2.4%, IPN reports.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the industrial production in the first 11 months of last year rose by 2.3% on 2018 owing to the 1.3% growth in extractive industry and the 3% growth in processing industry. The production and supply of electric power, heat, gas, hot water and conditioned air decreased by 0.7%.

Last December, producer prices in industry grew by 0.2% on November 2019 and by 2.6% on December 2018.

The prices in extractive industry in December 2019 rose by 1.4% on November 2019 and by 10.3% on December 2018. In processing industry, the prices increased by 0.2% and by 2.5% respectively, while in the energy sector decreased by 0.1% on November 2019 and rose by 1.9% on December 2018.

In December 2019, compared with December 2018, the prices increased in the nondurable goods industry by 3.6%, in the durable goods industry by 2%, in the area of activities and goods related to energy by 1.7%, in the intermediary goods industry (energy sector exclusively) by 1.2%, while in the capital goods industry they decreased by 0.3%.
