A German company will invest in the construction of a plant of wiring for high-speed trains, elevators and the automotive industry on the territory of the Industrial Park SA “CAAN” in Straseni. Under the project, about US$50 million will be invested in building a hall of about 35,000 square meters. There will be created 4,000 new jobs. The plant will be put into operation in stages and will reach the highest capacity in 2018-2019, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Economy established a partnership with the Ministry of Education in order to set up an active technical training center on the park’s territory according to a German model. Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that more than 1,000 qualified workers and about 100 operational managers for the resident companies of the Balti Free Economic Zone, including the Straseni subzone, and for other companies will be trained annually at the center.
Deputy Minister of Education Loreta Handrabura said the training center will be based on a three-party training strategy that will involve the state, the education institution and the private companies. There will be trained three types of specialists: unskilled workers, who will study for three months, workers with average specialization level, and workers with higher professional level. The last group of workers will be instructed within a partnership of the Technical University of Moldova with a German university that will prepare professional engineers and managers.
Vasile Rosioru, president of the Board of Directors of the Industrial Park SA “CAAN”, said the works will start this November and the first modernized industrial hall of about 6,000 square meters will be put in commission next March. Another hall of 10,000 square meters will be reequipped and put into operation in 2015.
