Two men from southern Moldova were sentenced to 8 years in prison for raping a young man with disabilities. They took advantage of the young man's inability to defend himself and had forced sexual relations with him after consuming alcoholic beverages together, IPN reports.

According to the police, in February 2023, the defendants, aged 51 and 57, lured a 23-year-old man with a mental disability into the home of one of them. After giving him a strong drink, they sexually abused him.

The next day, the victim ran away from that house and told his mother about what happened. The woman alerted the police.

In court, the defendants pleaded not guilty.
