A man aged 46 from Chisinau was beaten with an iron bar by individuals who broke into his apartment at about 4am this morning by forcing the lock. The man suffered serious head and thorax injuries, but managed to call the police.

Head of the Chisinau Police Division’s press service Adrian Jovmir has told IPN that the police arrested three individuals aged between 20 and 24 from Ceadir-Lunga district. The suspects stole golden jewels, money and other possessions to the value of over 10,000 lei.

The police established that a woman, who is an acquaintance of the victim, furnished the robbers with information about the things owned by the man.

The three individuals will be under arrest for 72 hours. They face 8 to 10 years in jail for robbery. All the three have a criminal record. One of them was earlier tried for murder, while the others for keeping drugs.
