Individual Partnership Action Plan RM – NATO entered in effect
The Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) the Republic of Moldova – NATO was officially validated once the decision to adopt the document was published in the latest number of “The Official Monitor” newspaper.
According to the Plan, the main political objectives and reform goals of the Republic of Moldova is to strengthen the cooperation with the European and Euro-Atlantic structures and institutions; territorial integrity and relations with neighbors; democratic and human rights reforms, actions against corruption etc.
Regarding the territorial integrity, IPAP mentions that the Republic of Moldova is interested in solving the Transnistrian conflict peacefully and in order to do so the participation of all interested international factors is required, especially the EU, the USA, Russia and the Ukraine.
The Republic of Moldova will continue to cooperate with the Council of Europe, OSCE and the EU in the implementation of democratic reforms, in order to assure the rule of law and guarantee that the national legislation is in accordance with the international standards.
In the section of economic and political development, the Plan also provides for the implementation of the decisions of the Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (EGPRSP) and those of economic-social compartment of the RM-EU Action Plan.
The Republic of Moldova will promote concurrency and will improve the business climate, will take measures to consolidate its economic and energetic security and will sustain relations with international financial organizations, the document also stipulates.
Through the implementation of IPAP the Republic of Moldova doesn’t seek to join NATO, but hopes to use the Plan to speed up the reforms in the fields of national security and defense.
